Yes, even on your wedding day you can be environmentally conscious while still enjoying the lushest, most beautiful floral displays possible.

What we do to offer you "green" floral design:

•  We are perfectly located halfway between the flower markets and the city. The Northern Beaches, Eastern and Western Suburbs are all within 30 minutes drive which means we cut down fuel consumption.

•  We don't use excessive packaging when delivering your bouquets and strive to use recycled boxes dressed with natural materials and ribbon.

•  Vase water is never wasted. We use it on our own garden.

•  We never use bleach or other chemicals for cleaning or flower preservation.

•  Because we specialize in weddings and functions we only buy flowers as we need them. This means little wastage and we don't have to store flowers for long periods.

•  We provide information to couples about how to reduce environmental impact on your wedding day.

Here is what you can do:

•  Always choose glass over plastic and cardboard. We have a wide range of glassware to hire for your special day. You can enjoy the beautiful look of glass vessels and we can reuse them.

•  Placing flowers directly in water will cut out the non-biodegradable floral foam used by florists when making an arrangement.

•  Choose flowers in season. This means they can be sourced locally and are absolutely fresh and lush.

•  Succulents have long been used by florists everywhere and can double as table decor and gifts.

•  Consider using plants like Phalaenopsis orchids or flowering pots for your table decorations. They make wonderful gifts for your guests or can be planted in your garden for a lasting memory. They also work well in combination with cut flowers.

•  Consider including fruits and vegetables in the decor. Bright displays of fruit make great centrepieces on long tables and look stunning in long glass cylinders. Fragrant herbs can also be integrated. If it's too much for you to consume, they can be given to local charities, schools or retirement homes.

•  Cut flowers combined with little grass pots, fruit or veg will guarantee an amazing display and wow factor for your guests.
